The county IHSS employee who conducts the assessment, decides the authorized hours, issues the Notice of Action and handles changes to a recipient’s case. Recipients and providers contact the social worker, or the county IHSS office, for anything about the case; wages and timesheets are handled separately by the state payroll system.
