Assessment
What it means in California's IHSS program, in plain English.

The in-home visit in which a county social worker evaluates how much help a person needs with each IHSS service, using the Functional Index ranks and the Hourly Task Guidelines, and sets the monthly authorized hours. An initial assessment follows the application; a reassessment is normally done at least once every twelve months or when needs change.
