← All glossary terms
The person who receives IHSS services: an aged, blind or disabled Californian who is eligible for Medi-Cal and, after a county assessment, is authorized a set number of service hours each month. In IHSS the recipient is also the provider’s employer for most purposes: they hire, supervise and, if needed, dismiss the provider, and they approve each timesheet.
