The electronic fingerprinting used for the IHSS provider criminal background check, run through the California Department of Justice. It is part of provider enrollment; certain convictions (Tier 1 and Tier 2 crimes) bar a person from being an IHSS provider, and a recipient may waive some Tier 2 exclusions in writing.
