Electronic Visit Verification (EVV)
What it means in California's IHSS program, in plain English.

A federal requirement (from the 21st Century Cures Act) that non-live-in IHSS providers electronically record the start time, end time, and location of each care visit — done through the IHSS EVV Mobile App, the Electronic Services Portal, or the Telephone Timesheet System. Live-in providers are exempt from EVV entirely. Location data is only captured when service is provided in the recipient's home, not in the community. Free step-by-step ESP registration guide →
