What it means in California's IHSS program, in plain English.
← All glossary terms
The official county assessment form used to record a recipient's Functional Index ranking for each task and calculate authorized IHSS hours. The SOC 293 includes a specific line (Line H) for Memory, Orientation, and Judgment rankings, which determines Protective Supervision eligibility. Recipients have the right to request a copy of their own SOC 293 from their county case file — useful when preparing for a reassessment or appeal.
